Whether one lives in Canada or is visiting, there are plenty of zoos that they can see. They vary in size, and although they all have many breeds of the same animals, some have a few that are different. Some of the most exciting zoos are found in Atlantic Canada.
New Brunswick
New Brunswick has a few different types of establishments that provide homes for animal species. One of the favourites is the Magnetic Hill Zoo. This is considered to be the largest zoo to exist in Atlantic Canada. Currently, they have more than 600 animals for visitors to see.
Newfoundland and Labrador
The big attraction when it comes to wildlife in these provinces is the Newfoundland Insectarium. This specializes in housing all different types of insects.
Nova Scotia
Here, the Oaklawn Farm Zoo can be enjoyed. They say they have the biggest selection in the Eastern part of Canada when it comes to the big cats and primates.
Prince Edward Island
There are no major zoos to be found here, but there are several petting zoos.
